Give
Fund the first house
We are an all-volunteer board raising the money to open transitional housing in Waterloo. Every gift goes into the building and the support that makes it work.
Where it goes
What a gift actually buys
We would rather show you the line items than a progress bar.
The house
Down payment, closing, and the repairs required to bring a property up to code and make it livable for several men at once.
The first year
Utilities, insurance, and the operating cushion that keeps a resident from being put out over one bad month.
The support
Case management, transportation help, work clothes and tools, and the documents — ID, licence, records — that everything else depends on.
Other ways
Not everything useful is money
Hire someone. If you run a business in the Cedar Valley and are open to hiring on record, that is worth more to us than a check.
Rent to someone. Landlords willing to consider a supported tenant with a background solve the single hardest problem we have.
Mentor someone. A few hours a month, over months. We will train you and you will not do it alone.
Give a house. If you own a property you have been trying to figure out what to do with, we would very much like to hear from you.
